Currently, the world is still striving to recover from the widespread impacts of the pandemic, especially in health, economy, and social sectors. The global economy has slowed down, leading to job cuts, reduced purchasing power, and increased poverty rates. These conditions are exacerbated by conflicts affecting global food availability and various disasters caused by climate change, requiring resilience and mutual assistance to prevent detrimental impacts (such as stunting, school dropouts, crime, and more).
The 2023 Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO) report states that one in every 23 people now needs humanitarian aid, a figure that has more than doubled in the past four years. Another report indicates that achieving the first Global Goal (SDG) of ending extreme poverty by 2030 is challenging. Factors include the slow global economic recovery post-pandemic, rising interest rates (the stagnation of the real sector leads people to prefer saving over investing), fuel price hikes due to Middle East conflicts, and widespread crop failures caused by unpredictable weather (climate change), all of which further decrease societal welfare, including in Indonesia.
Cintara is a social organization dedicated to and focused on developing local economic potential, community independence, and sustainable environmental conservation. Cintara develops various innovative efforts based on existing local potentials within communities through Community Development programs, Clean Water provision, sanitation and hygiene, carbon emission reduction, and organic waste management. These efforts are synergized with government policies in the National Development Plan (RPJPN 2025-2045 and RPJMN 2025-2029), emphasizing economic growth, poverty reduction, competitiveness enhancement, and sustainable carbon emission reduction.
Cintara’s Community Development program strives to empower and support the development of local potentials (natural resources, creative industries, tourism, and culture) to be better utilized for improving living standards sustainably. Training and entrepreneurial development programs for SMEs based on local advantages are then guided and assisted in accessing various physical and digital markets, serving consumer needs at local, national, and even global levels. Empowerment through the digital economic ecosystem is one of the flagship solutions of the Community Development program.
In the field of environmental and carbon emission reduction, Cintara partners with related stakeholders (government, communities, private sector, academia, and other NGOs) within the framework of CSR or community service to develop renewable energy programs, green supply chains, waste recycling (3R), wastewater recycling, clean production, productive reforestation, and others contributing directly to the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs) and meeting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. Simultaneously, building resilience to climate change impacts to create a safer, more comfortable, and sustainable environment and community for all societal levels, encouraging communities with limited education, economy, and health access to become more empowered.
Cintara has a team of experts dedicated to providing consulting, research, and development (R&D) services in community empowerment and green economy fields. Services include research/studies, assessments/audits, policy formulation, and reporting, such as BUMDES development, CSR activity monitoring and evaluation assistance, ESG reporting data collection and verification, and green product or production certification assistance.
Emphasizing the empowerment of independence through the development of human resources capacity, communities, and social organizations in the form of formal and non-formal education or training as needed, starting from curriculum preparation, initial assessment, implementation, final assessment, and certification. These efforts certainly cannot be done alone; collaboration is key to more comprehensive and sustainable handling, increasing the effectiveness of mutual societal concern for a better life.
Therefore, let us take part in bringing about improvement, change, and sustainability in providing better hope, opportunities, and chances, and creating a sustainable environment for us and our future generations. Let’s do it!
